Witches, ghosts, princesses, and monsters all reveled in a ghoulishly good time during CBD College’s 2nd Annual Halloween Spooktacular on October 27th.  Trick-or- Treaters and students alike were amazed by the transformation of our fourth and fifth floor classrooms.  The highlights of the event included:

  • two terrifying haunted houses
  • costume contests
  • a creepy Halloween dance with spooky refreshments
  • AND a step- and- repeat banner to capture the frighteningly fun festivities.

The Haunted Houses

This year’s houses were split into two teams, each with equally bone- chilling themes.   The Surgical Technologists displayed undead cadavers, skeletal doctors, shrill screams, and a clown-faced patient that made even the Admissions staff jump.  The second team was comprised of the Pharmacy Technicians, Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Medical Assistants.  The unwary “Morgue” trespasser was guided through a truly macabre maze complete with fearsome patients, ankle- grabbing doctors and horrifying moans.  Everyone left the houses spooked  and in shockingly good spirits.

The Terrifying Costumes

Friends and family of students and faculty (as well as little goblins and fairies) followed the trick-or-treating path around the fourth floor, visiting the haunted houses along the way. All paths led to the auditorium where water and lemonade were available and cakes, brownies, and candy “medicine” were graciously provided by the Pharmacy Technician Bake Sale.  Prizes were awarded during the Costume Parade to the Scariest, Prettiest, Funniest, Most, Original, and Best Staff/Faculty Costumes.  Judges also roamed the classrooms and offices for the Door Decorating Contest.  Take a look at some of the winners!

The Frightening Fun

This year featured the event’s first Snapchat filter for a scary selfie.  A photographer was also on-site documenting the action, so be sure to check out the CBD College Facebook page, and follow @cbdcollege on Instagram for more pictures from the #spooktacular
