The CBD College Surgical Technolgy program hosted an informative Open House on Wednesday October 21, 2015. The fourteen visitors in attendance learned what it takes to become a distinguished Surgical Technician themselves.

Potential students were introduced to the art of aseptic technique, which includes proper handwashing and sterile gown and gloving procedures. In addition, all participants were able to observe students assisting in mock surgeries, which included orthopedic fracture implants, Laparoscopic procedure demonstrations, and a hands-on lecture and demonstration on suture techniques. Students and visitors were able to practice what they learned on pig feet and hearts.

Will CBD’s next class of Surgical Technicians have what it takes to make it in our program and in the professional world? We are confident they will! And as always, we at CBD will make sure we do whatever we can to help them along the way.
