If you’re considering becoming a pharmacy technician here are a few details which can help you make a decision:

Job Prospects

According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, pharmacy technicians can look forward to a solid job market in the near future. Pharmacy technician jobs are set to grow at a rate of around 20% at least through 2022, a pace identified by the bureau as “faster than average.” That’s good news for anyone choosing now to make a career change.

Basic Responsibilities

Pharmacy technicians are the pharmacists’ right- hand. They are responsible for measuring and counting prescriptions, interacting with patients, keeping the pharmacy organized, and obtaining and reviewing patient prescriptions as they come in. It’s a rewarding job with immense responsibility- one which will bring great gratification knowing that you are part of a collective team working to help others.

If you do decide that a career as pharmacy technician is right for you, the first step will be attending a professional pharmacy technician school in Los Angeles. There you’ll learn the skills needed and receive quality on-site training that will prepare you for the world of pharmacy.
