Our Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program is designed to help you launch a career capturing critical diagnostic images that support accurate medical decisions.
In just 18 months, you’ll build the technical and clinical skills to operate MRI equipment, evaluate image quality, and support patient care with confidence. With hands-on training and real-world clinical experience, you’ll be fully prepared to meet the demands of this high-tech, high-impact role.
Upon graduation, you’ll qualify to sit for the ARRT MRI certification exam, as CBD College is accredited by ABHES. After completing your training, you’ll be ready to pursue a rewarding career in hospitals, diagnostic clinics, outpatient centers, and imaging facilities.
Hybrid Program | MRI Technologist Overview
Learning to identify normal and abnormal anatomical structures in cross-sectional images is hands-on and immersive in our hybrid MRI training program! You’ll learn how to safely capture diagnostic imaging, ensure image quality, manage image data, and more. In only 18 months, you’ll gain confidence using MRI equipment and prepare for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI Primary Pathway certification exam.
Our program combines structured education with practical clinical experiences at approved clinical sites, allowing you to apply your skills in real-world settings. As you progress through the program, you will be well-prepared to earn your MRI certificate, opening doors to various career opportunities in radiologic technology. By the end of your training, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to excel as an MRI technologist and pursue post-primary certifications in specialized areas.

What Will I Be Doing as an MRI Technologist?
Today’s MRI Technologists are responsible for many essential tasks, including:
- Preparing patients for procedures and obtaining, reviewing, and integrating patient history and supporting clinical data
- Preparing and maintaining diagnostic imaging equipment
- Performing appropriate MRI scanning examinations and procedures
- Recognizing the differences between normal and abnormal tissues in the obtained images and other diagnostic information
- Analyzing images and recording data for interpretation by a radiologist
- Recording findings and keeping track of patients’ records
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients and other health care professionals, and acting in an ethical and professional manner
