Relax and Recharge with CBD College Wellness Wednesdays

CBDwellness wednesday march 8th College met the kick off of Wellness Wednesday on February 8th with resounding “ohms.”  Students and staff joined an hour long practice of guided mediation and yoga sequences.  Currently, Wellness Wednesdays falls on the second Wednesday of every month.  With the success of February’s event, the Student Affairs team hopes to bring Wellness Wednesdays to CBD College every other Wednesday.  Depending on attendance, there may be a session every Wednesday.

wellness wednesday march 8thThe next Wellness Wednesday will be tomorrow, March 8th, 2017 in the 4th floor Auditorium.   The location has been moved to the Auditorium, due to the large turnout of the last session.  Wellness Wednesdays will still meet at its usual time between 2PM and 3PM.

Benefiting Your Mind and Body

Guided meditation is one of the most powerful ways to eliminate stress and also bring about positive personal awareness. Yoga is the practice of balancing your mind, body, and spirit.  Almost anyone can do these activities, regardless of age or fitness level. Practicing these activities opens up the possibility to be still, non-judgmental, and de-clutter the mind.  The sequences involve gentle movements, so participants can drop in for any session and still expect to gain some major benefits:

  • Connect body, mind, and spirit
  • Practice body awareness and self-reflection
  • Feel strong and boost self- esteem

Anyone of any age or fitness level is welcome.  Students, faculty, and staff bring their own yoga mats and open mi nds.  Come dressed comfortably and ready to move.  The upcoming schedule is as follows:
March 8: Sequence for Beginners
April 12: Sequence for Tension Stress and Headaches
May 10: Sequence to Energize

CBD College’s Student Affairs team is here to guide students to resources for counseling and healthcare outside of independent, personal developments.  The College is proud to offer a program which gives students the tools to handle day-to-day stress.  They hope for a great school-wide turnout for their second Wellness Wednesday, March 8th.
