Our Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program is designed to prepare you for a meaningful, people-first career helping patients overcome physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.

In just under two years, you’ll build the advanced skills needed to create and deliver personalized treatment plans that support independence and improve daily function. Through hybrid learning, immersive labs, and clinical experience, you’ll gain hands-on readiness to work across a wide range of healthcare and educational settings.

The MOT program has been granted Preaccreditation Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). Upon full accreditation and successful program completion, graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Examination for Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and pursue licensure. Our comprehensive curriculum prepares you for a rewarding career as an occupational therapist in hospitals, schools, rehab centers, outpatient clinics, or home health.

Hybrid Program | Master of Occupational Therapy Overview

Graduates of CBD College’s hybrid Occupational Therapy degree program gain valuable expertise in designing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans. This program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to deliver effective care in a variety of settings.

Over the course of 23.5 months, you will engage in comprehensive coursework and hands-on clinical experiences. These will prepare you to help individuals of all ages overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.

The entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program has applied for accreditation and has been granted Preaccreditation Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E, Bethesda, MD 20814.

The program must complete an on-site evaluation and be granted Accreditation Status before its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).

In addition, all states require licensure to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the National Certification Examination for the Occupational Therapy Assistant, administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT®) once it is fully accredited. After successful completion of this exam, the graduate will be a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).

What You Can Do with a Master of Occupational Therapy

You’ll be responsible for many tasks, including:

Evaluate patient’s physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs
Set goals and determine treatment plans for patients to develop, recover and improve the skills they need for daily living and working
Assisting patients in therapeutic activities and exercises
Monitor and document patient progress and make modifications to plan when necessary

Graduation Requirements:

A Master’s degree is awarded in Occupational Therapy to students who complete all course work in no more than 150% of the total number of hours in the program with at least a 80% grade point average, and who are in attendance for at least 90% of the total didactic course hours.
